Well, Pat Riley knew he was coming.
On a radio show with Dan Le Batard over the weekend, the president of Heate said some interesting things about LeBron James, who currently has a contract with the Lakers, and that’s a very good thing.
The association became aware of Riley’s comments and on Wednesday threw a harsh manipulation fine on him to teach the lesson.
James has a contract with the Lakers for the next two years, which means that moving to the Heater will mean any (really unlikely) trade, which means the NBA doesn’t like the business that’s going through the waves.
Anyone who took possession of Riley knew the fine was coming. He said he hoped to lower the fine at the end of the conversation.
“That will fine me for manipulating me,” Riley said.
Here’s what Riley said in the wallet a little lighter:
What did Pat Riley say about LeBron?
In an interview with the June 4 radio show “Dan Le Batard Show,” the president of Heate said he would “leave the key under the door” if LeBron James wanted to return to Miami on the eve of his career.
Full comments on Riley’s situation:
I would leave the key under the door, if he called and let me know he was coming. I would do that, but I have a big doubt about that key, that key is rusty now. LeBron, look, is one of the greatest of all time. It’s been four years down here – if we want to go back and remember what those four years were like – it was four years in the finals, four years of excitement, two world championships. It was the best moment for LeBron, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Udonis (Haslem), the Heat. So I wish him the best, and if he ever wants to come back, I’ll put a shiny new key under that mat.
He got the answer to the question, really, to Dwyane Wade’s former legend of the Heat no LeBron James, that is, Riley could have avoided a $ 25,000 fine.
Maybe Le Batard can get the fine paid.
